Noah & Rainbow Story

This writing is my 150th Blog. I give glory to Jesus our Lord and Savior for his mercies to me on his wisdom and guidance. Our Lord Jesus, who has sustained me with all the wisdom and knowledge to write the Blogs for the last 3 Yrs.

We live in the Last Days of Lord’s coming, there are many similarities on how the world we live currently vs how it used to be in Noah’s days.

Days of Noah

Genesis 6:5-6,11-12 'The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. '

Our Current times

- We see many of this currently to get us a indication of Last Days..

2 Timothy 3:1-4 'But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God '

Commonality between old days vs current

  • Wickedness of man growing ~ we are corrupt to sin, new sins are blooming day to day.

  • Evil things of Heart leading to disobedience to God’s word

  • Lovers of World. People’s eyes are getting blinded and turning away from God. Lot of love to Pleasure.

  • No Love for God

God even regretted earlier in Noah Days Genesis 6:6 “The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled”

In midst of this corrupt world, God says “But” Noah found favor in God’s eye as he was separated from the world and lived a life pleasing to God

Genesis 6:8-9 'But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord . This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. '

While we live with similar times, God showed so much mercy to Noah and his family to protect them God’s wrath. We should learn this spiritual lessons in our lives so that we can also find mercy from God.

Short Story of Noah

In a time when people were filled with wickedness and world was corrupt, Noah, along with his three sons, lived as good & righteous people in God’s eyes. God was upset by the world's wickedness and asked Noah to build a huge boat. Noah gathered animals and food, following God's instructions. Rain poured down for 40 days, flooding everything and wiping out life.

After a year, the floodwaters went away, and Noah, his family, and the animals left the boat. God blessed them, telling them to have many children and fill the Earth. God promised never to flood the world again, showing a beautiful rainbow as a sign of this promise. A Video version of story in Youtube Link below

Lessons for us to Learn from Noah

When the world was filled with so much evil, we hear he was a outlier to be chosen by God. how did he live righteous life when the world wss filled with wickedness.

Fellowship with God

  • Noah was in constant fellowship with God to hear his voice when others were running after wickeness and evilness, he sought God to seek his righteousness thats why God testimonies about him Genesis 6:8 But Noah found favour in the eyes of the Lord.

  • Noah fellowship with God. When you fellowship with God, you hear his voice and listen to him God directed him on many things

  • Warning of whats coming - Clear direction on whats coming the way, why he has to build a Ark - Genesis 6:13 'So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. '

  • Direction of How to build Ark - He did direct him how to build the Ark - Genesis 6:14-21

  • Direction of What to do with the Ark - He directed what animals to gather, what clean / unclean animals to pick, take his family to the ark Genesis 7:1-3

  • Revelation of final days - God warned him 7 days prior to the destruction and what he should do. Genesis 7:4 'Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.” '

Faithfulness to God

  • Genesis 6:9 'This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. '

  • Faith in Noah’s Children - The word says Noah was righteous man, He depended on God every day. See his dependence, he has his children only after 500 Yrs. Genesis 5:32 'After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.'. His faith was so strong, he had to wait for 500 Yrs. for his blessing.

  • Faith in God’s promise to Build an Ark - God comes and asks him to build an Ark. Just imagine yourself in Noah’s situation, the people are filled with lot of world pleasures, some one coming and saying the world is going to get wiped out , build a boat, we would laugh and not obey, but Noah trusted in God with Full faith as he was faithful with God Hebrews 11:7 'By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith. '

  • Noah lived to this promise, thru the Faith he pleased God - Hebrews 11:6 'And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. '

  • Noah and his family persevered to live the hardships of mocking etc.. when they built the Ark

  • Noah and his family endured the flood to fulfil God's promise, thru the faithfulness of God

Obedience

  • Noah has obeyed God to build that Arc. I am sure all of this has to be done in manually by ferrying Oak woods, cutting / building etc.. He never was lazy to say we will do it later, did build it during the appointed time of God where God warned him 7 Days prior to the flood.

  • Noah obeyed all that was told by God, two times God gives a testimony of his obedience

  • 1st time God says - “just as God commanded” - Which means he listened to God’s minute instructions and details (We can read all of that in Genesis 6:13-21) and obeyed Just as he told him - Genesis 6:22 'Noah did everything just as God commanded him.'

  • 2nd time God says “did all that the Lord commanded” It indicates Noah did not disregard any of the commands that God asked him to do, he put his self secondary and gave 1st priority to do all what God instructed him to do . Genesis 7:5 'And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him. '

  • Noah came out of the Ark only when God asked him to come out

  • Noah fulfilled this promise by keeping the Love of God to obey God’s word. John 14:15 ' “If you love me, keep my commands. '

God’s Grace on Noah

  • God was angry with the people for their wickedness, while he planned to destroy the world with the flood. He sent 40 days and night with rain that flooded. There is a interesting verse

  • But God remembered Noah - This should be read as God relented his wrath because of Noah.

  • Why did God relent his wrath, because he did not want a righteous man to suffer further waiting inside the Ark.

Patience

  • Patience and Faith go hand in hand, we can see this from Noah’s example, When God asked Noah to build the ark, he did every thing as Lord commanded

  • We read only after 40 days he opened the window of the Boat - He waited for 40 days to open window Genesis 8:6-7 'After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. '

  • When the rain stopped the water around the boat took 1 Yr. to see the dry land, all that days he was inside the Boat. Just imagine, inside the boat with all these animals for last 1 yr. you would be water phobic, with the dirt of animals, desperation to see the dry land. He did not rush till God prompted him to come. Genesis 8:13 'By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. '

  • Noah did not come out of the Boat even after he found the land dry, He came out only after The Lord asking him to come out Genesis 8:16-18 '“Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives. Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it.” So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives. '

  • Noah was not like many of us , he never lamented with water around nor throwed any tantrums to God to make the land dry, he waited for the right time of God to let him send the winds to dry.

Righteousness

  • We read in Genesis 6:9 'This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. '

  • God testifying about Noah as a righteous man. The mark of righteousness is shown by his actions, he did not walk out of the Ark and go directly to land.

  • He built an altar for God and did a sacrifice offering to God, The act of his was so good that God testifies as a “smell of pleasing aroma to God” . Genesis 8:20-21 'Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. '

  • God’s covenant to him - a promise that God will not destroy the earth with flood again - Genesis 9:9,11 '“I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” '

  • Promise Sign is Rainbow - this is a sign to remind him of how grate God is on his mercy that he will not let his anger again on us. Genesis 9:12-15 'And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. '

The day of the Lord Jesus coming will be even more dreadful than Noah days.

  • Matthew 24:21-22 'For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. '

  • Daniel 12:1 '“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. '

  • Joel 2:30-32 'I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord . And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, even among the survivors whom the Lord calls.'

We have our time running short, unless we are not separated like Noah the pain of Last Day of Lord is so dreadful we will not escape the wrath of God. We need to have these 6 qualities to be close to God and God will save us in the last day with the wrath that may come on us.

Next time you see a rainbow, remember God's promise to Noah and be reminded of his Last days to warn you for his coming soon. Jesus is coming soon !!. awake !! arise !! worship him.
